VGT has signed a lease at the five-story 178,000 SF Class A office building in the Cool Springs submarket. The Franklin-based gaming company will occupy just over 33,000 RSF on the third floor for its new regional headquarters. From the Nashville Business Journal: A tech company that sold for $1.3 billion cash has capped its search for a new corporate headquarters by staying in Cool Springs — signing a lease at a new office building. Video Gaming Technologies Inc. will lease more than 33,000 square feet of the Mallory Green office building at 3401 Mallory Lane, according to newly filed public records. The company designs and builds casino gaming machines, with more than 20,000 terminals in 140 U.S. casinos. Founder and Franklin resident Jon Yarbrough sold the company in 2014 to Australia’s publicly traded Aristocrat Leisure Ltd., a deal that cemented Yarbrough as one of this region’s billionaires. Nashville tech boosters cheered the deal as a huge, long-desired exit for a business outside of the city’s signature health care industry, which those boosters viewed as a signal to other investors of what Nashville had to offer. Company revenue stood at $236 million at the time of the sale. Video Gaming Technologies employed more than 600 people in 2014, roughly a third of which were in Cool Springs. The company can hold a workforce of about that same amount at its forthcoming headquarters, based on the amount of parking available at the Mallory Green building (featured in the slideshow with this story). The five-story building features floor-to-ceiling glass, with curtain wall construction, and large open floor plates that open the office and give it an abundance of natural light. The initial phase includes approximately 950 surface parking spaces and 85 reserved parking spaces beneath the building. The four acres of protected green space on the site offers leisure paths leading over a natural stream, connecting to more than 45 restaurants located within walking distance of the building. Major office tenants will appreciate Mallory Green because of its convenient access to Interstate I-65 and numerous amenities, and its ability to provide employees with more than a place to work.
