These projects were selected as outstanding in terms of architecture, financial success and land use, but also the impact they have on our community. These projects play a critical part in making Nashville a more vibrant, exciting and inclusive city. We’re thrilled to celebrate with all the night’s winners – and believe that together, we make this city a better place and raise the bar for each other. Our recent project REI Distribution Center 4 was awarded a 2024 Excellence in Development Award and we couldn’t be more thrilled. The 400,000 SF facility is a prime example of modern industrial development, integrating high standards of sustainability with a commitment to the employee experience and the practical needs of logistics. Dubbed “a warehouse where people actually want to work” by Fast Company, this project went beyond erecting another building, however; it was a great case study in weaving a client’s commitment to environmental stewardship and what’s best for its employees, and the surrounding community, into the fabric of the project’s infrastructure. Thank you to REI for entrusting us in bringing this exciting idea to life, and thank you to all our project partners for your collaboration and commitment to success in delivering such an impactful project. The Urban Land Institute, or ULI, Nashville District Council honored 11 Middle Tennessee developments at its Excellence in Development Awards during a May 15 celebration at the Omni Hotel. “In November, we celebrated Nashville being named the No. 1 ‘market to watch’ by ULI Americas and PwC for a third year in a row, and at the Excellence in Development Awards, we see why we received that title,” Sheila Dial Barton, ULI Nashville chair and principal at EOA Architects, said in a news release. “The awards showcase projects that are outstanding in terms of architecture, financial success and land use, but also the impact these projects have on our community. They make Nashville a more vibrant, exciting and inclusive city.” Out of 21 project nominations, the winners were selected due to “their demonstration of meeting market demands and addressing community needs specific to Nashville and Middle Tennessee.” REI Distribution Center National outdoor retailer REI Co-op opened its state-of-the-art distribution center in Wilson County last year.
