Here’s How Al. Neyer Put A 13,000-Pound Pool On A Downtown Apartment Tower

Tom Demeropolis

“The apartments at North American Properties and NorthPointe Group’s Eighth and Sycamore project will have a pool for its residents. But how do you put a pool on the sixth-floor of a downtown Cincinnati parking garage and apartment tower?

Al Neyer, the general contractor of the $52 million project, lifted the 13,000-pound saltwater pool off a truck parked on Eighth Street, hoisted it above the nearly 17-story apartment tower, and then swung around to lower it down. The pool has a built-in sun deck and bench seat.

Al Neyer expects to complete construction of the apartment tower, commercial space and parking garage in late 2017.”
