Neyer spent a day outside of the office on June 11 to participate in Give Back Cincinnati’s Paint the Town event. The major volunteer initiative, held in Madisonville this year, lasts one day and engages more than 1,000 volunteers to paint and rejuvenate Cincinnati area homes in need of a little TLC. Paint the Town was started when Rob Porter, a leader with Give Back Cincinnati, moved from Detroit and brought his experiences to the Queen City. The idea was that painting many homes in a concentrated area can truly lift up a community. Neighborhoods are chosen according to need, and qualified homeowners are encouraged to apply for the service. Painting a home can give a renewed sense of pride to the homeowner, improve the image of the neighborhood, and serve as a catalyst for community improvement. The team at Al. Neyer was assigned a house and before the painting could begin, the house needed to be prepped. A handful of employees volunteered to help prepare the house by power washing, scraping, and priming the exterior of the house. And bright and early on June 11, more than 15 people from Al. Neyer arrived at the designated house in their painting clothes and volunteer shirts. Sponsors provided all of the necessary equipment so that all there was left to do was paint, and that’s exactly what the Al. Neyer team did. Al. Neyer is proud to once again be an integral part of Paint the Town and looks forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
