Neyer Names Jennifer Barnes as New CFO Al. Neyer has hired a new chief financial officer. Jennifer Barnes joins the design-build developer’s leadership team in a period of record growth, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the role. Barnes will serve as a key contributor to the continued expansion of the company’s geographic footprint, multi-asset type portfolio performance, and development of debt and equity capital relationships to fuel Al. Neyer’s project pipeline. A commercial real estate veteran, Barnes previously served as CFO at Viking Management Group, and she is well-equipped to lead the financial management of Al. Neyer and its more than $1 billion in real estate assets. From the Cincinnati Business Courier: “Jennifer is an accomplished leader, and her combination of financial and operational expertise is a strong complement to Al Neyer’s leadership team,” CEO Molly North said in the release. Barnes, a Northern Kentucky native with a masters degree from Xavier University, most recently served as CFO at Viking Partners Management, where she led its accounting, investor relations, IT, human resources and marketing and communications teams. She started her career at Deloitte. Barnes told the Business Courier she was attracted to Al Neyer because of its reputation in the industry and its employee-owned model. She said an employee-owned model can really help companies’ culture flourish and attract ambitious talent. “It’s so clear when you start to get introduced to different people in the company (that) we’re one team,” she said. “That is what I’m so excited about: one team, and everybody on the team has a voice.” In her new role, Barnes is looking forward to helping Al Neyer continue its high growth trajectory. The downtown-based commercial real estate developer witnessed nearly 100% revenue growth between 2021 and 2022, with much of it local. Now, Al Neyer is looking to achieve its ninth straight year of record growth. Despite economic headwinds – including high interest rates – rocking the real estate industry, Barnes is confident in Al Neyer’s position and ability to continue that growth record. She said Al Neyer is in a strong position due to its robust project pipeline and boots on the ground in its core markets. Read more from Abby Miller – Reporter, Cincinnati Business Courier. About Al.
