Neyer Designs, Builds $36 Million Project For AK Steel Bowdeya Tweh Cincinnati Enquirer “MIDDLETOWN – Instead of being able to dig shovels in actual earth at the project site Friday, inclement weather forced officials from AK Steel to settle for potting soil inside an Atrium Health Center conference room. It was a unique start for AK Steel’s $36 million project to build a new Research and Innovation Center near the Interstate 75 and Ohio 122 interchange. But the development portends to have a big impact for the West Chester Township-based company, which is working to enhance its innovation profile and better compete in a mature industry. The center also will provide a critical investment in a community that served as its first home. … AK Steel’s current innovation center at 705 Curtis St. in Middletown is home to 76 researchers, scientists and engineers. The company expects to hire 15 people for full-time research positions. Downtown Cincinnati-based Al. Neyer is serving as the project’s developer and design-builder and Downtown-based BHDP Architecture is designing the interior labs and office areas.” – Cincinnati Enquirer (more) Recent NewsMonday July 29, 2024REI Co-op sets standard for sustainable warehousing with LEED v4 Platinum distribution center in Lebanon, TennesseeTuesday June 11, 2024Al.
