Al. Neyer Announces Plans for Simpson Strong-Tie Build-to-Suit Facility in Gallatin

The word is out! We have plans to construct a 496,000-square-foot build-to-suit industrial facility for Simpson Strong-Tie, a global leader in structural systems research and technology and one of the world’s largest suppliers of structural building products.

Our collaboration began in 2022 with the goal of establishing a new manufacturing and warehouse facility for Simpson Strong-Tie’s expanding operations in Gallatin. Ultimately, the Airport Road site was the chosen winner, and it was selected by our client for its proximity to downtown Gallatin and the existing local labor force. This strategic move will enable Simpson Strong-Tie to meet increased product demand and relocate a portion of its fastener manufacturing operations to Gallatin, creating nearly 250 jobs across Tennessee, including 37 new positions. Al. Neyer is proud to work hand-in-hand with the Simpson Strong-Tie team to deliver a state-of-the-art facility ensuring a smooth transition for its expansion.

The site, totaling 64 acres, is one of the only large in-town industrial-zoned development sites in Gallatin, and the adjacent acreage provides an opportunity for future development. This isn’t our first project in Sumner County. In fact, we previously delivered Vanderbilt Health Walk-In Clinic Hendersonville in 2021 and we’re currently under construction on The Hickory at Indian Lake Village, a 212-unit luxury multifamily development in Hendersonville. We expect the first units there to be available in the summer of 2024.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work as design-build developer for a company like Simpson Strong-Tie and be a part of their long-term investment in the City of Gallatin,” said Patrick Poole, VP and Nashville Market Leader for Al. Neyer. “Our client’s investment in this facility is a testament to the area of Gallatin as a growing business and industrial center, and one of the many reasons we are optimistic about our future developments in this market.”

Clay Haynes, Principal Broker for Public Square, played a pivotal role in facilitating the transaction, ensuring a seamless process that led to the selection of the Gallatin site.

“It’s been great to work with the team at Al. Neyer on this project in my hometown. They have a unique combination of capabilities, with full vertical integration of design and construction paired with scale. Those are the elements that brought this opportunity to the closing table,” said Haynes.

Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE were involved as Developer and Tenant broker representatives. Ware Malcomb is the project architect and engineer.
