  • Restoration of 120,000-square-foot Ford Motor Co. Model T auto assembly plant into loft-style office space

In 1915, Ford Motor Co. visionary Henry Ford built several multistory assembly plants for Model T production. By the late 1930s, Ford had closed many of these plants, opting to produce cars in large, one-story facilities.

In 2002, Al. Neyer, Inc., in concert with developer 660 Lincoln LLC, began the restoration of one of these facilities, in accordance with stringent guidelines set by the National Register of Historic Places. Although structurally sound, the building had become an eyesore.  In addition to providing design-build services, Neyer assisted the developers in obtaining historic tax incentives and other funding sources.  Utilizing Neyer's integrated capabilities, just seven months were required to reveal the site's renewed beauty and significance. The loft-like quality of the interior provides unique space unmatched in the market.

Now, as the first corporate office tenant, a large package design firm, establishes its headquarters in the building, the community has rallied around the landmark’s rebirth, as a sign of new possibility in the urban neighborhood.  In recognition of their accomplishment, the developer and Al. Neyer were jointly presented with a 2003 Preservation Award from the Cincinnati Preservation Society.
